Scooter special chapter - Roundup 2020! Generations 1-5

Hello hello hello everyone! Welcome to a moment I've been waiting on for a loooong while: a roundup of the Scooter legacy from generations 1 to 5! I'm excited for this look back at the first half of my favourite TS4 babies. I dug back into the archives and found some stuff I didn't post. And a few other things, like some thoughts I have or had, and my ranking of how much I liked them lol. Let's get into it! It's kinda long, so brace for it.
 

 Before we get into the rest of it, I found a Sim in my library who I realised, was the Sim I originally planned to start this legacy with.

Meet Penny Jane Spooner. Yes. Really.

I made her, then later I randomly created Percy, and I rather liked him. So I reskinned Penny's name and slapped it onto him. Yeah. So that's a fun little story about how this entire save could've gone a different direction entirely--though it probably wouldn't've been too different since all the partners are planned already. I might use old Penny for something in the future. She's not a bad Sim at all!

Generation 1: Percy and Sebastian

Back to the generation that started it all! The florist and the live-in help that hated his guts. In my opinion, I could've done so much more with this generation, but in my defense, it was my first time writing for a journal-style legacy, and I wasn't sure how much content should make the cut. Thus, there's a bunch of cutting-room floor content for this gen lol.

Did you know my first idea for this generation was for Percy and Sebastian to be rival business owners? Percy owned a flower shop, and Sebastian a bakery--two stores on the same lot. Enter meet-hate, and an enemies to lovers story.

It didn't pan out because the mod I wanted to use didn't work. Oh well! Maybe someday!

Percy Jack Scooter was a paradox in my mind. He worked with the public, but barely saw beyond himself. Owned a business but struggled with adult schedules. Consummate twink but was a top. You get it. I think nothing better exemplifies that than him at 27 trying to power his way through a plate of molten pizza bites.

Looking back, I should've just said Sebastian was a live-in butler. Not sure why I said he was a PSW; Sims are self-sufficient from cradle to grave lmao. But anyway, here's the baker in his natural element. Perpetually uncomfortable and covered in flour.

Sebastian and Francie were so cute together! They were real pals. I miss them both so much.

Here is the ONLY PICTURE of a lightning strike at the right moment I ever was able to take. I tried for literally 8 generations afterwards to get it again. I never did.

One of few pictures of Oliver that I got. I had so few because I EXPECTED HIM TO LIVE PAST THIS STAGE!!! UGH I'm still so madddddd. I'm so sorry, Ollie.

Here's baby Josie when they downsized homes. She was so cute! But why she was eating a premade ham & cheese sandwich when her dad was a 5-star chef...is beyond me.

Later-stage family during Harvestfest, when they went over to the Silvas'. When Matangi almost said he liked Josie. Haha. Good day.

In my opinion, Percy and Sebastian were my 2nd favourite couple of the first half of this legacy. They were a great start but honestly already watered down from their original concept (again, because of that mod not working). So that kinda kneecaps them a little. But I hit my stride later.

Generation 2: Josie and Matangi

Josie left Newcrest for Brindleton Bay in search of her Brindleton bae, Matangi. Yes I reused that joke. Enter the cutest and most Canadian gen of this legacy so far!

I almost put Josie in this hair, out of irony. But I didn't hate her like that. She didn't deserve the #terfbangs.

Baby Cashew!!! Aaaaaaawww man. He was just the default EAxis Alaskan malamute preset but he was such a cute little pixellated dog.

One night my stupid ass just decided to inflate a potted plant to such a size that I couldn't select it again and I had to reload to an older save. Because, dear reader, I am dumb. As. Shit.

Little puppy Waffle!!!!!!! UGHHHHh, I miss Waffle and Mat so much. This generation was so pure with the pet interactions.

Lol @ this interaction. It always looks like the recipient is staring straight at the plumbbob when the other Sim does it.

Matangi never became the big buff cheeto puff he hoped to be. But that was fine; ripped Matangi sounds like a cursed image. For some reason, Josie slimmed up super quick though so that was interesting to see.

Remember Cookie? The little asshole cat Josie adopted one Winterfest? Yeah, he was cute...sometimes. It's a shame he was such a little turdlet.

I don't miss you, Cookie. Hope hell is hot.

Know who I do miss? Cashew. That's the double-edged sword with Pets-themed generations in a LEPacy, for me. I always get genuinely very sad when the pats pass away. Because I like animals more than people.

 

Mayor Whiskers, you peeping tom! He did that a lot lol; he would usually follow Mat or Josie into the shower and YOWL at them. But it's okay because he was adorable and I loved him. Unlike certain other cats.

I didn't get many shots of teenage Randy. So here's her reading nonfiction, her favourite genre. Lol I didn't give her a sibling because I thought she came out such a perfect mix of her parents, so I didn't see the point tbh. On top of the house being too small, and me being too lazy to edit it.

Josie and Mat were my no. 1 favourite couple of this half of the legacy. And at the time of writing this, they're STILL the elite couple. I'm currently 8 generations in and so far, they have yet to be dethroned.

Generation 3: Randy and Collin

Now get to work, bitch. This was the first gen I attempted any major storytelling and is still the most ambitious Scooter plot to date. It was alright, but I let the story overtake the point of this generation, which was to play Get to Work EP. But, I tried, and I'll do it better next time.

The way the game thought Sofia Bjergsen should join the science career, along with Mitchell Kalani and other sus choices.... Collin thought that was a freeze ray kinda problem.

Here's Randy perfecting her joke craft at the local bar in Oasis Springs. Renaissance Sims. Keep doing you. You strange, versatile individuals.

A shot of Sixam that I only ever used in truncated forms. What a pretty world. Too bad there's FUCKING NOTHING ON IT.

Little baby Willow! Awww. Honestly, if the following generation's partner wasn't Toro who had a predetermined sexuality, I would've chose Willow as heir. She was a great mix of Randy and Collin and I loved her.

This house Randy and Collin lived in was dingy and probably smelled musty irl but y'know what! I had a weird affection for it. I'd built it during the island generation from Sebastian's legacy/the save preceding this one. It's quaint! It's fun! It's in Sulani! What's not to love?

When I tell y'all I sat here for 3 real minutes trying to decode which of the 4th-gen twins this was. (It was Xander).

Oh, I had this whole segment about Willow, her friend Raquel, and her future beau Simon going to a beach party...and yet I never used it...? What the hell was I thinking? I had a small handful of pictures for this event lol. Justice 4 Willow

I wanna say Randy and Collin were my third...no, fourth favourite couple in this part of the legacy. I think it was the way the story developed, but I just didn't believe in them anywhere as much as Josie/Mat. I feel like they didn't come about organically enough for me. Which is of course my bad, but. Y'know.

Generation 4: Landon and Toro

Aka living in Sulani 2: Electric Boogaloo. It really is hard to sustain a whole family off the grid. I don't regret it bc it was a learning experience and it was different from the usual TS4 gameplay.

Have this AMAZINGLY cursed picture of Iro, Toro's mother, kneeling crotch-height in front of Landon. I hate it too.

More of Landon hanging out with his best fwends, the island spirits. It was a great way to bring up his social and fun living off the grid, actually! Entertainment was never more than a single summoning away.

Just my two good boys having a wee smooch against a bright blue Sulani backdrop. Elite world. Best effort.

I'd actually wanted Landon and Toro to get married before Landon started to show, but them's the breaks. I simply forgot. Oh well--they still had a very lovely wedding with all their friends! Which I actually think was a first for this save?! Because prior to this, everyone just had a Legacy WeddingTM in a public place lmfao.

This picture really demonstrates how much Sully looked like Toro. Because he was literally just Toro with blue eyes lol.

These two were cuuuuuute. If Percy and Sebastian didn't have that uber-tantalising enemies to lovers thing going on I think these two, with their Purity, would be my favourite m/m couple so far.

Festive Winterfest tree decorating times with the whole family! Aka the only time Landon wore his party outfit. Same with Sully. What a useless outfit category.

Malakai, that is NOT...how to romance a person...but I guess it worked anyway bc they stayed 2gether 4ever. Lol teenage Poppy's outfit was cute and I definitely chose her because of the ice cream cone earrings.

I think Landon and Toro win out over Randy and Collin for my 3rd place favourite couple. Not as exciting as Percy and Sebastian and not as pure as Josie and Matangi. But came around more organically than Randy and Collin. But they were still cute. A solidly average couple imo.

Generation 5: Sully and Ori

 

We already saw how their generation went down, but here are a few outtakes, so as not to be left out of course.

Y'all I was really not kidding when I said there is NOTHING to do in Strangerville but hang out in this fuckin junkyard. Spraypainting...on loose, dry topsoil? Huh? Y'know what, I'll take it.

I feel so fuckin bad for this Sim. Look at all those plates on a single hand. They want to be dead so bad.

You look me right in the eye and tell me Rainbow looked like a shiba inu. You can't. Because he doesn't. But that's what EA seems to think.

He honestly looked like a fox mated with a dingo. Like...that is not. A dog. He was cute, but he was not a dog.

I believe Dami was destined for heirdom the day I subconsciously decided I'd potty train him and not anyone else. Them's the breaks, I suppose.

The twins in Selvadorada! I would love one day to install that residential/vacation world mod and just live in this town with a Sim family. I think it'd be very nice.

Here's some apocryphal Luca/Jamie content but I realised it was post Luca's skeleton days but I hadn't changed his eyes to green. So, it would've seemed like a continuity error. Oops!

Sure, Jungle Adventure as a GP was limited in its scope. But it still had some great ideas to give me, and a cool take on a culture EA hadn't taken inspiration from before. So, I'll call a spade a spade and give it its You Tried badge.

No but actualllyyyy. For a solid month I got so hung up on what to do with gen. 6. Should I play Uni or Eco? Should I use Dami or Bree? What colour are we even gonna go with?! Well, I still think Briana deserves a nice life. We'll see if she gets it or not.

I don't know how to feel about Sully and Ori. They were fine as a couple. I just don't know how well they meshed together. They were both really different but didn't have giant bombastic personalities to be interesting or magnetic. I thought they did the job just fine. I dunno.

1. Josie/Matangi. Unbeatable. Pure. The best thing to grace my eyes.
2. Percy/Sebastian. OG spicy heated romance hell yeah.
3. Landon/Toro. That teenage love coming home content is MMMMNNNH
4. Randy/Collin. I tried lol
5. Sully/Ori. Weird? Worked, but also didn't? Maybe they just didn't work enough?
