Scooter 1.7 - I Like Your Shirt

Welcome back to the Scooters.
I hope y'all are ready to meet some new characters in today's admittedly short update!

Right next door, a new family has moved in! Naturally, Percy and Sebastian went over to go and greet them.

Percy: Hey, new neighbours! I'm Percy and this is...if he'd turn around...my husband Sebastian. We live next door.

Jay Silva: Hi, Percy. And...Sebastian?

Percy: Ah...hahah...ha...

Jay: Well, I'm Jayaratnam, but just call me Jay. It's nice of you to come say hi. Come inside, please.

Swati Silva: Hi there! It's so good to meet the neighbours. I'm Saraswati. Or Swati. Whichever floats your boat!

Sebastian: Hey there. I'm Sebastian. Welcome to the neighbourhood. You look like you have a full house!

Swati: Yeah, three kids and a dog. It's never quiet around here. (whispers) Between you and me and the moving truck, I haven't slept in three days.

Sebastian: Oh, man. That's...super rough.

It's Josie's birthday!

Josie: I want a pony! You'd better step up, EA.

She Has Arrived.

Josie: Time for acne! Prom! Learning how to drive!

Wait I can't do any of those? Uh okay lol

Josie: Hey! Hey Amira! Wait up!

Amira Bhamra: Who are you?

Josie: ...I'm your best friend from elementary school. Josie Scooter. Remember?

Amira: Ohhhhh. Okay well I have to go now. Bye.

Josie: Oh haha...okay. Bye

First lesson of adolescence, young Scooter: Trust no townie.

Josie likes to do a lot of her studying at the library. You know, just so I can have an excuse to use this library.

Josie: (humming to herself) Carry the...seven...and....

Matangi Silva: Uh--hey.

Josie: Hi?

Matangi: Hi, sorry to bother you. But I think you're in my math class.

Josie: Oh, yeah, I think you are. Aren't you my new neighbour too?

Matangi: Yeah, but I wanted to lead with one thing at a time so I didn't seem like a creep, haha. I'm Matangi. Or just Mat works.

Josie: Hi Just Mat. I'm Josefine. But just Josie works.

Matangi: (chuckles) Good to meet you. Can we talk about this week's chapter?

I think at some point a few chapters back I mentioned how every partner I marry into the Scooter line is a character I had before from my Sims 3 days. Because I'm a little slut for nostalgia I'll blather about them for some context. So that begs the question...

Who is Matangi Silva? Mat began life as a co-founder (one of 3; I know, it's weird) of a Sims 3 save called the Chane legacy. It was very heavily story based, with many layers of lore, lots of posing, and lots (LOTS) of CC. Matangi was actually a demon from hell, who looked scarier than he really was. He loved dogs, loved kids, and loved his family, though the human world was wary of him--for good reason. He had pyrokinetic powers, invoked by speaking his hidden name. Now, he's just a regular teenage boy from Canada. Still loves dogs though.

School projects are getting harder and harder. Robotics? Man I wish my high school was that well-funded.

Josie: (grumbles) This is really hard, dad!

Sebastian: You know, you could always go next door and ask Mr. Silva for help. He's in engineering, apparently.

Josie: Hmm...Mat did tell me about their cute dog...I might go over sometime.

Sebastian: There you go. Problem solved.

Indeed Josie went over to the Silvas', but she didn't focus on her homework for long.

Matangi: ...this is when Cashew was a puppy! Look at how floofy he was.

Josie: NOOOOO he was so floofy I'm gonna die.

Matangi: (sigh) I love dogs, man. I want dogs forever.

Josie: Ever think about being a vet?

Matangi: Uh, yeah--only every day of my life!

Josie: That's so awesome, Mat. It's so cool you know what you wanna do with life. You must be the coolest boy I've met.

Matangi: Uh...(stammers) Hah. Thanks, Josie.

With the amount of money Percy has he can literally spend it on whatever absolute frivolity he wants.

Percy: I've taken a bath every day this week. My thermostat stay on all night. What you know about this lavish lifestyle?

Percy and Sebastian have so many vacation days, I'm sure nobody would mind if they took one once in a while.

Percy: You never fail to surprise me, baby.

Sebastian: (chuckling) Come here, love.

Sebastian: I'm wondering what brought your family to Newcrest, Jay.

Jay: I just wanted a change of location. The big city downtown is no place to raise three kids. Though, I admit--Mat doesn't really need our help anymore.

Sebastian: Aw, don't say that. If you raised them well, they'll always want you around.

Jay: (chuckling) Of course they do. I'm not worried about our Mat. But we're a very non-traditional family. I don't want to burden him or our other kids with taking care of us when we're old. Not the way Swati's parents expected. Oh boy, the fallout from that one.

Sebastian: Yeah, I hear you. It's all we can do sometimes to keep it together.

Jay: Of course. Now, give me your knight.

Josie finally got her project done and LOOK AT IT. IT'S CUTE. IT BEEPS! IT SPINS! It is my Son.

Oh y'all just FREAKY freaky aren't you?

Percy: Wait--quick I'm just gonna lock the door.

Sebastian: Good call.

Harvestfest has come around and the neighbours that have made fast friends decided to celebrate it together!

Although fuck me because I forgot I made the Silvas vegetarian (they're meant to be Hindu) so that means gross grey tofurkey. Great! Cool!

Josie: This is really good, Swati.

Swati: Oh, thank you, Josie dear. I'm glad you like it.

Matangi, abruptly: I like your shirt Josie.

The adults: (quiet chuckling)

Josie: Thanks, Mat. I wear it almost every day?

Matangi: Yep! You sure do! Amma, appa, can I be excused to go and die?

Matangi: ...I'm really sorry about earlier, Josie.

Josie, over the phone: Mat! It's fine! Seriously, you've apologised like four times. You're really okay.

Matangi: I just feel bad that I put you on the spot like that....

Josie: (giggles) It was funny, though.

Matangi: Yeah?

Josie: Yes. And you know what, if you feel so bad, you can make it up to me.

Matangi: How, exactly?

Josie: Well, why don't you...and I...hang out sometime? Away from either of our houses. Like, together.

Matangi: Oh! Oh--I think that'd be really cool.

Josie: Okay, sweet! We'll make a plan then!

I forgot to mention that Josie's aspiration is the Soulmate one. Ha ha ha ha HA HA HA HA HA. Anyway I'm so glad to have finally introduced the Silva family. I've been WAITING

Oh hey, before you go, have some extras I didn't edit but would still like to throw in:

Swati mentioned having three kids and a dog. One is obviously Matangi, but they have two others: a set of twins named Harsha (left) and Jyoti (right). I didn't highlight them because...idk...they're unimportant ig lol

Inarguably more important is the Silvas' dog, Cashew!!!! I can't believe I got like no pictures of this sweet sweet boy. Look how cute he is!!!!!

Generations walked so Parenthood could trip and fall into a hole. Seriously tho, Generations? One of the better packs of TS3 (and potentially the entire series tbh)

And MATANGI!!! 😭 I'm so happy to see him back. (Also I would d*e for Cashew)

Honestly if I ever got back TS3 with the guarantee that it wouldn't destroy our poor old PC, the first EP I'd slap on it would be generations. in this house we stan generations
